So frickin' pissed

Why is our public transportation system seriously so behind? It took me maybe 30-40 minutes to bike to a friend's house literally just a block away. I got there and he told me to come back 3 hours later, made me so mad. I tried going to a corner store and had to wait so long to cross the roads because of the lack of crossings and stop lights. The automobile system is supported by greed and privilege like almost everything else in this country. I'm happy to live here because it's definitely better than other countries but oh my GOD. I take public buses as well, the routes they take are so limited and really useless when it comes to genuinely using transport while also taking forever to come with delays lasting from 10-30 minutes. The system I use is HART, and in the suburban areas the buses come in intervals of an HOUR each which is so dumb. It's hot and humid in Tampa, it's about time the state actually adapts and makes trains.

That's the thing, though. I feel like our governors and state officials don't actually care about the well-being of the citizens of Florida, they care about the profit they make to work on other things like expanded highways or generally things that benefit the rich. I feel so frustrated because i'm not happy living in Florida and know for a fact I never will, but the economic state we're under makes it hard to change my life for the better and I feel stuck. I don't know what i'm going to do with my life if I don't have the single thing this world revolves around, money. Kind of going off-track though, whatever.
