A Night in the Realm of Snow, Fire & Dragon

Last night, I had the strangest dream (,,> ᴗ <,,) !! It was magical and fantastical, and I never wanted to wake up 𖦹ׂ ₊˚⊹⋆

In the dream, I was living with my family (or at least, they were supposed to be my family—there were so many people I didn’t even recognize, about 200 in total) on top of a snowy, icy mountain. All of my relatives had magical control over ice and snow. We lived in a castle that resembled a hotel (there were even tourists staying there, so it felt like a strange mix). Then, one of my cousins saw a glimpse of the future. A coal-colored dragon with crimson scales was going to attack a nearby mountain, home to another family. In this world, each mountain was home to a specific family (like a tribe), and their powers came from the mountain they lived on. For example, miners could control earth and lava, while my family commanded ice and snow.

My family sent me to gather more information because, unlike the others, I had greater powers. I could leap several meters in a single bound, project my consciousness in a form that others could see and touch, and besides controlling ice and snow, I could also control water.

Before I set out, I went back to my house, which was perched on planks and glaciers on the edge of a cliff. I laid down on my bed and encased the entire room in ice as a shield, so no one could disturb or harm me while I prepared my mind to reach the dragon.

I took my conscious form and passed through the walls, leaping from tree to tree and rock to rock until I reached the miners’ mountain. But I was too late—the dragon had already begun its attack. The beast was massive; I was the size of one of its teeth! I stood out among the miners because my snowy, white fur clothing was so different from their rough attire. The dragon noticed me immediately and began targeting me with its fiery breath. I leaped from place to place, dodging its attacks. Just then, the family from the lightning mountain arrived, striking the dragon with bolts of lightning. The miners controlled the ground, rooting the dragon’s feet to the earth, while I distracted it by hurling icicles. Eventually, we defeated the beast and chained it up in the heart of the mountain. The dragon was unconscious, and its massive body was bound with enormous chains.

Each family took turns guarding the dragon, and when my turn came, I couldn’t stay awake. I slumped into a corner and fell asleep. But as I slept, I watched the dream as if from a third-person perspective, like a ghost hovering in the room. The dragon, pretending to be unconscious, opened its eyes and took human form. Easily slipping out of the chains, it approached me. I watched, helpless, as it tried to grab me, but its hand passed right through me. It realized I wasn’t really there and fled, searching for my real body. When I woke, I discovered it had escaped, and I rushed back to my mountain to warn everyone.

By the time I returned, the dragon had already reached my home and was searching for me, disguised as a human and staying at the hotel. I hurried back to my cliffside house, but as my consciousness reentered my body, I hit the ground with such force that my house began to collapse. I was so exhausted that I couldn’t even get out of bed, much less walk. I lay there, trapped in the room of ice I had created, unable to escape.

Suddenly, the dragon, in human form, ran into the collapsing house. My family was trying to reinforce the ice beneath the house to buy some time, but the dragon, making sure no one was watching, used its fiery breath to melt the ice and enter my room. I was barely able to open my eyes, and in one swift movement, the dragon scooped me into its arms and ran out of the house. The house split in two, and the part we were in began to fall toward the cliff. The dragon leaped to safety, carrying me across the gap.

My family was grateful that it had saved me, and as thanks, they offered me to the dragon in marriage. I was too weak to refuse and couldn’t speak. So, the dragon took me away to a dark, distant mountain, where a gothic castle stood. This was its home. It didn’t seem to know what to do with me yet, so it led me to a room and dressed me in a long, white satin nightgown. As it smoothed the fabric down my back and over my hips, I felt its warm fingers brush against me. The nightgown was long, trailing on the ground, with small white feathers along the hem.

The dragon laid me down on the bed and gave me warm milk to drink. As it left the room, I finally saw its face clearly—it was the face of the person I love. I remember looking up at the moonlight as it streamed into the room, making my pale skin and satin nightgown glow. Gathering my strength, I got out of bed and walked to the window, but I nearly fell. The dragon caught me and carried me to a chair by the window, holding me in its lap, stroking my hair. It told me I wasn’t strong enough to stand yet and that I needed to be careful.

I told the dragon that I wanted to go back, that I didn’t want to live here with it. Still playing with my hair, it said softly, "Alright, I’ll take you back. When you’ve healed, you can go if you want. But if you decide to stay, I’d be happy to have you here."

My head rested against its chest, and even through its black shirt, I could feel the intense warmth of its body. When I touched its skin, I realized it wasn’t human—it was too firm, almost like stone. I looked up at its hands and saw that its black nails were more like claws. That’s when I knew for sure—it was the dragon.

But then, I woke up. And I was so frustrated! I wanted to stay in the dream and see what happened next.

Edit: I will be sketching some of the scenes from my dream and add them here soon 𐙚⋆°.⋆♡
