Musicals and my experience being the only theater kid I know

Even though I don't have the pleasure of seeing any musicals in real life (broadway), it's always super fun to watch or just listen to music from musicals online. One that I had seen all the way through is Hamilton, so it has a special spot. But growing up as an art kid on youtube means I watched alot of animatics of musicals including songs from "Heathers", "Be more chill", etc. But I have some lined up and ready to watch like "Ride the Cyclone", so I'm excited to see that! I'm also hoping to see the new Beetlejuice movie in theater next chance I could! I was supposed to see it recently but they wouldn't let me in because we came to the cinema too late and the movie already started.

Unfortunatly everytime I try to talk to my friends about it I rediscover that they hate musicals. they find them cringey and it sucks a bit because, yes, we do get to have our own opinions but nobody around me likes it and it's just a bit lonely lmao. Also I have a feeling that they refer to movie musicals rather than broadway. Today I asked my friend if she likes broadway musicals, and she said she doesn't know what that is!! WHAT!!?? I;m sure she doesn't realize a ton of stuff on the internet and songs on reels and stuff are from musicals, like idk, mean girls and those?

I have seen some musical movies like Matilda (The netflix one and the original normal movie), and I want to see Tick, tick... boom! It was also by Lin Manuel who is like a king for theater nerds because he writes so many amazing musicals. Namely Hamilton, and lots of disney movie music too!!

Also I want to see it because it stars Andrew Garfield and ever since I srtaed getting into Spiderman (and slowly marvel in general), he just totally amazed me with his acting. Get it? Amazing Spiderman?

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I'm excited to get into more and I hope that I meet other people who like musicals as well! :)

Maybe I'll also do a review of the new musicals I watch (if I remember haha)
