Somewhere in the grass he felt a smile missing
And the sycamore tries to discover it
And finds there's nothing there
Nothing there
to discover
Falling from the sky,
There are rainbows in his eyes
His neighbors took everything from the backyard,
His roots grew
But he doesn't know where they are
There was a dog that loved him but he ran away and melted into a cloud
Now there's a cat that keeps staring at him from a refrigerator
Under the layers lived a mouse but he moved to the big sad city
Faces and trees that are no longer there
Branches and scents that are lost
Now all what he hears are barks from the past,
Meows from the present
And a funny intermittent noise from the future
Is that a dolphin what he hears?
He heard on the news
That bandits felled Robin Hood's sycamore,
And in fear he widened his stem
And produced thorns in his words
Isn't that against the nature of the sycamore?
His roots grew longer
But he doesn't know where they are
The cat watching him from the refrigerator
And his dog watching him from the past
Scents and faces he won't forget
Sycamore stand tall
And you won't get hurt if you just keep your hands up
And stand tall
And when the bandits will come and bend you in two
They may say you're too green for the fire
When all you want to do is be part of the fire
All you want to do is be the fire part of fire
Like sycamore
Seeking amour
