September 17th, 2024 (new review) Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven by Kid Cudi

Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven by Kid Cudi is a heavily misunderstood album.

Some may label it as a shitty attempt at Rock music that's not passionate, or genuine, and those people are fucking wrong. This album is anything but fake, this is real raw emotion.. from a man who has given up.

Today was going shitty. So I decided to give this a relisten, and it actually hit me. This is the pinnacle of overhated music. Nothing about this album is even that bad. "ooohh but the mixinggg...but the mixing...oooohh the skits are annoying..oooh, I'm a soy boy who doesn't like to listen to skits..ooo I wanna be left with my thoughts and not have a lil laugh after a soul crushing song..oohh, I'm miserable." That's what you sound like, nerds.

Despite my huge Kid Cudi bias, I still believe this album holds up, it's emotional, fun, and "CONFUSED" all at once, and instead of that confusion causing a mixed trash bag of an album, it barfs out this flawed masterpiece that only a ME. Could love. Yeah I'm gatekeeping this album now.

The Beavis and Butthead skits after some of the songs might seem a bit unnecessary, but it helps get across this like stoner vibe that the album is putting off at times, though it may ruin the vibe of some songs like "Handle with Care." which is a somber song about delicacy, and then you just get Butthead calling Beavis a wuss after you cry to the song yourself. Which is just insult to injury at that point like cmon you just don't get it Butthead.

Beavis said it best; Word to Kurt, Butthead, word to Kurt.
