starting off with a basic description (this is copy and pasted from discord that was pre-written haha)
classes in homestuck represent your ability (in a literal sense) they are the ability in which they can do with their aspect, im going to be using blogs made by other people to help understand the point of classes and aspects classes can be put into six different categories which are understood by what the class can do creation, destruction, manipulation, comprehension, relocation, and application these connections will always interact with each other in some way, example; creation/destruction: because you will always do one action while simultaneously doing the other action, basically saying; when you create something you destroy something a lot of people in the homestuck community will use the terms active or passive to describe classes, the easiest way to put this is that active is one that is between telling or making something happen, and a passive is asking or inviting something to happen they both can make the same things happen, just in different ways active classes are the ones with control, who are able to force their aspect to do things even if its not apart of their aspects abilities but they struggle to understand their aspects functions passive classes have less control over their aspect, but are more understanding of how their aspect functions in conjunction with other aspects; they have the ability to make their aspect do what they want, when they want to this is basically why there is inversion pairs of god tiers, for every god tier 3 actions happen that create another 3 actions for the opposing god tier, the 3 actions are known as function, activity, and aspect; the function and the activity are what make the class and the aspect, for example; an action of "passive comprehension heir" has a reaction of "active manipulation witch" (manipulative and comprehension are opposites of each other, as well as heir and witch are opposites of each other) basically, a class will have an opposite class and have an opposite ability these are the main twelve classes and their opposites witch: active manipulation, and heir: passive manipulation mage: active comprehension, and seer: passive comprehension maid: active creation, and sylph: passive creation prince: active destruction, and bard: passive destruction thief: active relocation, and rogue: passive relocation knight: active application, and page: passive application now im going to get into the specific classes and what their roles are in the game and what this means for their personality
