Girl who doesn't know how to do dresses, wants to make a 1850 dress (girl is me :'v)

(I think this is the right category :p)

For context, every year in a city that's not too far from mine, there are three days where people dress like if it was 1850, because those same days the first train engine left that city to go to mine, and I designed a dress for next year. But there's a problem. I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO MAKE A DRESS D: I have all the plans, I even tried to do a 3D version of it! (which miserably failed but I tried :'v) But idk how to do it. What should I do? Ask someone to teach me? watch tutorials? do it without help and hope for the best? If anyone reads this and has any advices I'd be really grateful if they shared
