August 25th, 2023: The Noble Art of Self Destruction by Holding Absence

my god, I haven't enjoyed a rock record this much in a while

The Noble Art of Self Destruction is the 3rd album from alt rock outfit "Holding Absence" now i'll be completely honest I haven't heard of them until now, but this album pushed alllll the right buttons for me this is really a great sound

my ears are like blessed with every instrumental, the vocals sound familiar but not repetitive nor annoying. The theme of this entire album somehow feels soul-crushing and boundary breaking at the same time. I feel like I'm coming out of my shell while keeping myself bound together.

everything about this record impresses me, that's what I want from any album. the only gripe I have with it is that sometimes the songs drag on for a bit long and I forget where I am, other than that this thing is a seamless journey through like a twisted fantasy (no kanye) or fairy tale of some sort, I really loved how this came together.

I think the last thing I want to note about this one is that it really makes me have hope for my future, if it isn't obvious, since most of you reading this probably don't know me, I've been kinda struggling with mental issues for the past month and a half and I'm trying my best to heal, this album somewhat helped with that process, so, It's automatically one of my favorites this year, and I'm glad I didn't skip over it in the New Releases section.

All that out of the way,

I'm feeling a Light 9 on this one.
