So I've been trying to get into baking for like years now but I've always been putting it aside and just never really starting because I didn't know where to start. My sister is really good at baking so I asked her what I could bake for my first time baking alone and she recommended me to make eclairs!
I asked her if she could just supervise me while I make everything myself and if I asked for help she would show me and I would do the rest on my own. We made the first choux and it came out great but the pipping part was honestly the hardest part because they either came out too small or not thick enough so that batch came out faulty :(
The same day we made the pastry cream which took a lot longer than the choux but it was 100% worth it because it honestly tasted amazingggg :D Everyone in my family tried it and genuinely liked the pastry cream!
After a few days I decided to make a new batch of bread so I made more choux and baked it and they turned out wayy better than the first batch!! They were more fluffy and a lot bigger than the others. So I finally used the pastry cream to fill in the bread and made eclairs!! We also melted some chocolate to cover the eclair but they tasted really good without it!
I really wanna bake a lot more before the year ends so I can get better and make more complicated desserts!! My sister said the next time we bake were gonna make macarons because we have a lot of eggs whites left over from the pastry cream ^3^
