QUONKA DID??
VM:
As a long time Quadeca fan, yes, I've always thought he could do better, Despite already being a big fan of his debut LP, "Voice Memos," I always thought it could be better... mostly because it had a Dax feature but despite that, song structures weren't there and a lot of the songs were very, different for Quonka, and speaking of different.
FMTY:
"From Me to You" marked a huge shift in Quadeca-core music; he became more experimental with his sounds, he got features from ACTUAL rappers, and he had more singing performances, like "Shades of Us," "Can't You See?," and the beautiful chorus of "It's All a Game," which is the best song on that album. Don't @ me loser.
Now this might seem like a big improvement to most people, but no, not to me, I thought of this as a stepping stone, because I knew my glorious king Quad-Car could do amazing things, Benjamin Lasky could do BETTER, and I'm always right so SEEEGUEEEE
IDMTHY:
Here came I Didn't Mean to Haunt You, a chilling concept album, Haunting your loved ones and breathing in bad shit aside, this album is amazing, lot's of experimental sounds, a lot of singing, a lot of vocal performances that proceed the normal "Go white boy Go" quad-car fan, and instead of cheering happily for Ben, you start crying because you forget he's actually alive in real life and probably making more music. Wait, wait, what does that mean--
SCRAPYARD:
Scrapyard is the latest project from American singer-songwriter, rapper, and god, Benjamin Lasky, AKA Quadeca, Quadeca has built up his fanbase to this point by doing cringe ass youtube rap shit but actually started making decent solo shit after he abandoned Dax and left him with Thomas MacDonald. Scrapyard is an example of how far Ben has come with amazing songs with only two features on the album, those two being, "brakence" and "Kevin Abstract," both of prior fame from their solo and group work, respectively. But the highlight I'm focusing on here is one song, not "BEING YOURSELF." Despite giving it a 10, I need to address something else,
"PRETTY PRIVILEGE," this song, is the best thing to reach Spotify since Premium existed, it's just probably the most relatable thing for any person on earth, man, woman, non-binary, whatever you may identify as, Monster Truck, You can relate to not believing compliments at certain times, I'm sure of it, Unless I'm a sad sack of shit who cannot understand a lie from the truth, I believe this song applies to everyone. I believe it's even that relatable to say, I might get TOO sad listening to it, I might not be able to take the song, and that's what makes it perfect in that sense.
Other than that single song, everything is just kind of great and I can't do a great detailed explanation on every track, Even though I may love this album a lot, it's just so much to swallow that I can't explain my new found obsession. I can just say...
Quad did.
