hello!

first full week at school :p i've been adjusting to my schedule and spending a lot of time studying for my bio test on tuesday!

i had a nice birthday and my classes haven't been too rough. i also finally got paid for my summer job - it was a whole ordeal. my boss accidentally forgot to pay me for a whole month. whoops!

today i went downtown with my mom and bought myself a birthday present. i got three stuffed animals - a beige jellycat bunny, who i named pippa, a palm pal otter, who i named george, and a palm pal fawn who i named tawny.

i popped into a cool record store with a great selection. i definitely want to go back. i realized i don't have any bowie cds in my collection, which is a crime i need to remedy. i also went to a really cool co-operatively owned bookstore. another place i need to go back to - it had a great history and feminist literature collection.

i also spent some time studying with my friend tonight. i didn't get a lot done but it was really nice!

scholarships and university applications are just around the corner. i'm pretty good about not freaking out about things until they happen, but i am a bit worried, more about the looming dread of adulthood than anything specific.

i keep worrying about how childish i am. i feel like my time is running out. i watch a lot of cartoons, all my possessions are colourful, and i take stuffies with me everywhere. 

i can't drive, i don't have a job, i'm not moving out for university. i'm not stupid or totally immature, i'm just not ready like other people my age seem to be. i can't help wondering how much longer i have before my childish nature isn't funny or endearing anymore.

i guess i never processed that growing older means i actually have to grow up!!

gah! i don't know. i'll try to focus on the present. i know everyone moves at their own pace but i don't like that my pace is so much slower than everybody else's.

anyway. i'm excited for autumn to come in full force! i love when the leaves turn orange and red. i want to keep biking and learn more about mushrooms so i can start properly foraging. i'm going to go to the pumpkin patch with my friends, which will be fun!

as long as bio and applications don't make me lose my mind, i think it'll be a lovely fall :)
