From what I know, blinkies are not in my era. How?
I'm a core Gen Z, born in 2003 (yeah, I just missed the older Gen Z mark by a year 😅). I grew up in the time the internet was really biased yet aesthetically pleasing (2010s). My experiences from that time were about daydreaming about becoming famous because I really don't know how the internet worked back then.
Aside from browsing YouTube, Tw*tter (RIP), and Tumblr, I would also browse a really odd site for really odd, erm, artists. You guessed it: DA. And I would say that that's my first ever exposure to stamps.
I know I didn't sign up for DA back then, but I really knew stamps were hot back then. It's a really good thing I didn't sign up for it because the site fell out of popularity because of, well, you-know-what. (Also the esthetic changing was a bad idea in itself, so there.)
Although we may not(?) get it back, I have decided to make some of my own, and that's the best decision I've ever made.
TL;DR, I didn't experience blinkies, but I did experience DA stamps.
