Why Alexander Mcqueen shouldn't have continued after his death

I have a bone to pick with the culture of fashion houses continuing after the death of their founding designers. Especially with Alexander McQueen because I love his work so much.

I feel like the reason Alexander McQueen was so successful and was able to reach the level of success he did because his work was so personal with him as a person and his beliefs. Shows like Highland R@pe and Voss were so controversial and beloved because they had meaning and passion behind them. As well as they were meant to criticize England/the fashion industry. It had such a connection to Alexander Mcqueen's opinions as a person.

Especially seeing the progression of his work you can see his literal decent into depression, his later work becoming more and more disturbing and dark. His work was so connected to who he was that he was planning to end his life at the end of his last show.

The post-Mcqueen collections have been very disappointing to say the least. Especially when they released basic ass sneakers and everyone was buying them. I can't imagine going from being so obsessed with your work that you out locks of your HAIR into the tags to someone taking over your name/brand to sell sneakers/soulless couture gowns with no passion behind them for a quick check.

I could write an essay on how strange it is to name a fashion brand after yourself but I'll save that for another day.
