My band. help.

This is my first blog post and i just want to rant about a dilema im in and dont know what to do. feel free to give me advice :')

so a couple months ago i joined a band with four friends. we've met up for practice like 3 or 4 times now. i'm still in said band, but to be honest i don't think its going to go anywhere. most of us have very very different music tastes and i'm not sure we all have a goal on where we want to go with it. i also don't think people are that serious with it. 

at around the same time as i joined this band, my best friend also joined a band with some of their own friends. they seem a bit more goal oriented and seem to all have a similar music taste. i play guitar, and their band just opened a spot for a guitarist. i have a closer music taste to them than i have with my current band and think i would do better there. but i am still in this band so... i also overthink a lot and have been about what is my best friend in that band doesnt want me to join because they dont want to mix me with their other "cooler" friends. 

and then on whole other layer, i really would like to full on just start a whole new band that would have people with the same music taste as me. i know like one person that would be an ok choice, but they seem to be more on the beginner side of their instrument while im not and would prefer to play with at least a bit more experienced players.
