Trust

Teacher asked me today who i would trust in a life or death situation other then family, so I said nobody and someone called out"You have a boyfriend." But when I said I don't trust him they took it the wrong way. In a life or death situation I wouldn't be thinking about someone I met 3 years ago who I only dated for a year. If I choose not to trust him in a certain way then shouldn't that be fine? I trust him in my daily life but not in a life or death situation.
