So after some reading I see that a clean install of Windows 10 or 11 can cause the drive to be encrypted with #BitLocker without your consent and without telling you. And then the key is then saved on your Microsoft account without it telling you and it doesn't even prompt you to backup your key. "device encryption is initialized on the OS drive and fixed data drives"!! This is just total shit design. What if you didn't want all your drives encrypted with BitLocker? Well that's a big fuck you from #Microsoft to you because they don't care what you want! https://blog.elcomsoft.com/2022/04/preventing-bitlocker-lockout-and-recovering-access-to-encrypted-system-drive/
Apparently this can be disabled but not easily.
Installing Windows 10 or 11? Don't want all your drives BitLocker encrypted? Microsoft basically says Fuck You!
