A few weeks ago, I went to my local thrift store to go clothes shopping. I had gone many times before, but something wasn't right about this visit. I noticed many of the clothes they were selling were those very specific t-shirts that you would see advertised on Facebook. (ex: Don't Mess with a Mom who Loves Corgis and was Born in July.) I also noticed they were selling just generally low quality clothes. They had multiple issues, like poor stitching and weird fabrics.
I'm pretty upset at this, as I used to love this thrift store and would beg my parents to go with me all the time. Seeing all of those poor quality clothes was a real bummer for me. Of course, there were some decent t-shirts I saw, but it was mostly just garbage that nobody would take anyway.
I wrote this out because I've noticed someone else online talk about this kind of stuff. Is this a common occurrence for people? Please let me know in the comments!

Sadly this seems to be a really common problem nowadays regarding second hand stores. Over the past few years I've seen an overflow of fast fashion in thrift stores. Brands like Shein come up too much when I go through the clothing racks. Flea markets on the other hand are not only filled with bad quality clothes, but some booths are straight up just set up by people who ordered a bunch of crap from alibaba and try to resell it for a profit.
Second hand stores were supposed to be an escape from all this crap and a treasure trove for quality items... but shit. I guess they can't really help it, since people keep donating the 3€ fast fashion clothes they only wore once and then decided to dump.
Really pisses me off but there's not much anyone can do. It's still possible to come across some really good finds. You just really gotta look for them because they're few and far between. Idk. It is what it is I guess. I still frequent thrift stores and get most things second hand... but the situation is really depressing

Thanks for your comment! It's interesting to see this that phenomenon is occuring to other people. Crazy how some people will resort to just reselling fast fashion at second-hand stores, sounds super scummy to me.
It's a shame because I've heard some really good things about thrift stores, and seeing all of the poor quality clothes has really let me down. I suppose the stores have no choice but to take those kinds of clothes anyway.
Maybe I'll get a good find at a thrift store or flea market some other time, but it seems really unlikely with fast fashion going around.
