why cant people be normal around alternative people??

why do some people seem to forget how to act the second an alternative person comes around?? and its especially bad online, with tiktok being the absolute worst for this. youll either have teens in your comments talking about some 'i want to dress like this but i dont want to be bullied' or youll have people, usually men, hating cause they dont find you attractive and i dont know which is worse. i honestly feel bad for alternative creators on tiktok constantly having to deal with the first lot of people cause even just reading hundreds of comments all saying they want to dress a certain way but 'cant' is so infuriating as a viewer, i cant imagine having all that directed at me, must be hell. it pisses me off the most when people say this to gyarus since the entire point of being gyaru is to be confident and defy societal standards, if you cant do that how do you expect to be gyaru. and the worst part about them is that if youre rightfully annoyed with them and you put things bluntly they throw a fit and act like youre the rudest person to walk the earth. on the other hand you have these people constantly telling you that you 'dont need all that' and that you 'look better without the makeup'. whether they mean well or not it doesnt really change anything, its still not even close to a compliment, like imagine just expressing yourself in a way that makes you happy and your comments are just full of people telling you you would look better if you didnt dress like yourself. it makes no sense.

It's such an issue!! I have had full grown men full on shout at me and my friends. It's because they're jealous over the fact we're super cool and creative.

that's the price to pay when you don't dress like a normie. the thing is, weird comes from lack of understanding. As soon as something is confusing or you struggle to understand it it becomes something foreign to you, so you will be more likely to judge it or be hostile towards that person, concept, or thing. This is sadly how people are, not that it's an exuse but it's humanity in a nutshell. But at the end of the day yes it hurts to be perceived in such a hostile light but that's the price you have to pay for not conforming to societal norms.

I’m scemo and the amount of dirty looks and things I hear ppl say abt me or things ppl say to my face is absolutely insane. Most of the people talking shit abt me have never once had a conversation with me and I didn’t know who they where until one of my friends told me they heard them talking abt me.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that you don't have to dress alternative at all, that's just optional, you just have to listen to the music and follow the politics but ppl don't want to listen, they just wanna follow aesthetics.

bro is so real for this manba and yamanba gyaru are my absolute FAV styles and the hate i see on them literally crushes me and when i see comments abt how ppl would 'dress like this if bullying didn't exist' just irk me cuz the whole point of being alt is to be ALT. like u aren't supposed to fill some mold?? if u get bullied ur probably doing it right tbh like ppl are missing the whole point of being alt. i'd 100% go out in full goth or manba glam if and when i perfect them to my liking. i think its genuinely a problem of ppl not knowing being alt is being outside of the norm. fuckin posers /hj

it makes absolutely no sense, especially for gyaru. like the entire point of gyaru is to rebel against societal standards, if youre too scared to do that how do you expect to be gyaru

I think it's in an effort to police some kind of fake social hierarchy. But also I do not think the "I wish I was as brave as you " people understand how it feels to be on the other side of their lens. I also think it doesn't feel good to hear, and TBH in my opinion if more people dressed how they wanted all these barriers would fall away.

Stay strong!!

i feel like a lot of these people over think it so much because they dont want to be seen as weird that they end up making up things that arent there. most people in real life dont care what you wear, at least from my experiences, sure some do but most dont. they end up caring so much that they stop themselves from being truly happy and it think its very sad.

FOR REAL
how can the way someone ELSE dresses impact you, unless they happen to be wearing a shirt that says i hate you or something
its not like wearing something different to the majority is like wearing a big gun on your back or something
its not a health risk to anyone
so what is the concern for?????? why is the reactions from people so intense??? ill never understand it lol

a lot of people seem to just constantly judge others because thats what theyve been raised to do. theyve grown up with very judgmental people in their lives so they continue the cycle because thats all they know and they cant imagine what its like to be on the receiving end of it as they conform to societal standards.
