Man this series is so depressing. Everything from how Shinji reacts to his peers to how every single character in the show is just trying to do what they believe to be best, it's a tragic series that pulls no punches.
Rewatching Evangelion.

It's a very solid anime. The movies are good too, after episode fourteen it really dives into characters. It was my first anime and I rewatch it every few months. I'd recommend watching it if you enjoy thought provoking series. Don't expect a happy ending though

Episode 25 and 26 are a bit confusing but it's all very interesting. Love Evangelion.
