[art] recent art of my oc David / Buzzbomb !

hi i dont post art here a lot but i'll take this moment to do so since this character is on my brain a lot lately
his name is David Dolloper , stage name / street name / nickname / whatever is Buzzbomb (named after my favorite DK song ugghhh ... im great ..... im awesome ...... ough) i've made some stuff for him lately and i want to show him off : )

this first bit is very heavily inspired by a piece made by Shepard Fairey, a political activist and artist , and is of the man , the myth , the legend; jello biafra! i personally love this piece not only because of the composition of it but because the background is composed of multiple different references to both the dead kennedys AND jello biafras own works (albums, political campaigns [he ran for mayor of san fran in the 1980s], artworks, his record label [alternative tentacles], and performances [ronald reagan in the dollar sign shirt & tie that the dead kennedys wore for their performance of Pull My Strings])
also, just generally, i love the dead kennedys, so i wanted to do something that took direct inspiration from something that involved them (also including their song 'Saturday Night Holocaust' which is genuinely becoming a quick favorite of mine)

of course, this second piece is also music related because OF COURSE LOL
the dead kennedys are just one of the few bands i tend to associate with this character, the other two being queens of the stone age and the distillers—for the sake of this next piece, we'll be focusing on qotsa as this piece is based on the album cover art for Villains ! the original artwork was created by Boneface, a phenomenal artist who has worked with multiple other musicians for cover art, promotional art, and logos, and is featured for two other qotsa albums ('...Like Clockwork' & 'In Times New Roman...")
i love boneface's work to death and especially the commissioned artwork done for villains ! so i wanted to try my hand at replicating it with my own spin on the two figures

david is an undead, reanimated corpse, and so this piece features both his current body (red) and previous identity (blue)

i have made other things, but theyre primarily sketches and wouldn't be worth sharing here : ) i'll most likely do other redraws of album covers because it's actually very fun to do, and i have a very strong attachment to much of the music i listen to

Pretty Hate Machine by NIN for my unintroduced character, Remedy
& The Normal Album with my , also unintroduced , character, Fregoli
