As someone with a paraphilic disorder (not pdfilia, and I also get treatment for it so no worries) you're absolutely right. Its NOT an orientation, it's a mental illness and people with it should get mental help, people shouldn't be proud of it, it's HARMFUL. Harmful for everyone around person with para, if they start to think it's like, an orientation and okay they WILL harm someone.
The ones who indulge in their para we call "pro contact" and honestly I hate them and think they shouldn't exist at all, it should be a norm for people with paras to be non contact and dont hurt anyone and also go to the psychologist/psychiatrist :/

Do people genuinely claim that pedophilia is a sexuality? I haven't personally seen this, is it being passed around places like Twitter or Tiktok? (I'm not active/don't use these websites) Sigh. There are a lot of misconceptions on pedophilia/ephebophilia but if people are truly trying to claim that it's a sexuality that is very worrying.
