I thought the whole point of sites like SpaceHey was to stray away from that king of thing. I find it really weird that people would bring that here instead of treating this site as "a space for friends."
Why do people treat friends like followers on here?

I think it's because alot of the users on here are coming from sites like IG, TikTok, and Facebook, etc, where everyone that interacts is basically just someone that wants to see how your life goes through a third person perspective. We've basically trained ourselves to be detached to the people that try to connect or interact with us online and treat them like an audience and that may be why people on here will just blindly add someone or follow them and don't interact lmao. It's probably because of how they've gotten used to using social media in that way, it does take some getting used to tho to adjust to that kind of thing because I remember I did the same during my first month or so on this site :)
