this blog is basically my version of the book Just Me or Is Everything Shit?: The Encyclopedia of Modern Life
I read it in class and was so moved by the fact that even when I was at the happy little age of one, there were still cynical bastards that I would grow into at some stage that I decided that I would write my own blog complaining about life in 2024
The police
why do people always ask "why didn't you call the police?" any time someone does something harmful that's illegal?
On paper the police is a great concept, there's things people aren't allowed to do because they're harmful to themselves and others, Great! How do we enforce this? Easy! We have a group of people who we pay to catch people doing these things and punish them for it, ok but how do they know what people are doing this things? We have a phone number that works at all times that everyone has access to
but then you move into the problem of power abuse, corruption, lying, ignorance
that's not what we're here for, the main thing I hear this for is sexual assault, because of course something that's hard to prove happening is a clear thing you go to the people who very much do not know or trust you well to, along with people around you believing you and the trauma, ooh the trauma, I personally have never been sexually assaulted (and I would like to keep it like this by the way) but after my most recent traumatic event, I got stupid, I don't know if it's like this for everyone but when I've recently been traumatized, my brain functions less and I do not think well
Empathy
Jesus christ empathy is dead, people cannot visualise a bad thing, boycotts aren't considered worth it because "I'm only one person" these take millions of "only one person" GROW THE FUCK UP AND JUST DON'T DRINK YOUR BOTTLES POISON
it takes such little fucking effort, you do not need your stuff from big genocide incorporated, is it such a fucking effort to give a fuck about about anyone other than yourself?
