I forgot how unbelievably therapeutic it was to write little blogs so I figured I try again since things are going amazingly these past few weeks.
Tonight alone, I hung out with some of my favorite people to walk the Earth. We ate dinner together and spent a good chunk of the night walking around campus and just goofin' around. We just made laps while talking about the most random shit. Eventually we found a cool spot and stayed there for a little bit. It was so calm and comfortable. We stayed there til a few of us had to split off. From there, we were cruising in one of our cars blasting music.
We just drove around campus and around the area talking about life and experiences. It was such a good feeling. We were out for probably close to two hours. Just. Driving and talking. We saw some deer in a parking lot as well as crossing the road, and a fox. It's so peaceful to see them existing. There was also a cat and someone out with their dog.
We just hung out. I've only know the people in car for not even half a week and somehow we connected so well. If I hadn't walked up to one of them, if one of them hadn't joined our conversation the one time we were in the cafeteria together- it's crazy to think about how things had to work out perfectly for us to meet. Had we not gone out of our ways to make things happen as the universe laid out for us, we wouldn't be in that car. We wouldn't have been riding around connecting. "Are we making core memories right now?" one of them asked. Yes. The answer's yes. It's only September and somehow I've found my people. We've already made such good memories in such a short span of time.
Good people are wonderful. It took trial and error to find those who were really good and would stick around, but this it. These people are the reason to continue. If I had given up when I wanted to, I wouldn't have continued my friendship with my favorite people nor have met these newer friends. Life really is wonderful. It takes time, but good things do happen. I will cherish these people for as long as we're together.
As for the past week, on the first day of meeting one of them- we already invited them to drive to this little campus event mere hours of meeting them. It was fun, and again, if I hadn't come up to them and complimented their outfit, who knows if we would've hit it off as well as we did.
The next week, our other friend came up to me and them as we were talking at lunch. We just so happened to be there at the same time and sitting at the same table. I initially chose that because I saw someone cool to talk to, but they ended up leaving not too long after. I was about to leave but my friend was able to join me, so I stayed. That's when we started talking, and the other person asked to join. We ended up talking for the rest of lunch, and I talked to them afterwards since we had no classes for the rest of the day.
I clicked with these people so easily, and they were so easily absorbed into our group. They are truly wonderful, and I'm so happy to have met them. Everything worked out in such a way for this to happen, and I will forever be grateful.
