From where did you come, great Mother?
Could you have ever been another?
Was it always destined to be?
Are you all that we see?
Oh great mother of all things,
Are you the maker of all great kings?
From where do you come, infinite one?
Shall you reign ever be undone?
So we use our heads we ponder and think,
We find that you've come in a blink
That great unfathomable sea,
From it we your adoptee,
Infinite is your wisdom,
From it you've given us freedom,
We look to our hearts and find a fire within,
That same fire that with you has always been,
How many masks do you seem to wear?
What do we call you when our bones are bare?
Is the aquamarine sky your lovely face?
Within the raging fires do I find your embrace?
Oh mother, I simply yearn for your grace,
I suppose the thrill is in the chase,
For we can never truly know our place,
So the sages say it's always been the case,
Yet beyond this unknowing, I know it to be true
Our mother, through and through,
Unknowable I argue against the notion,
Like a fish in the ocean,
So be it.
