Causes

Death

Losing a loved one, especially a parent, is a heavily traumatizing experience.
Grief can develop depression and anxiety, leading one to experience other losses and grief more severely.

···························

Abuse or neglect

This could be from a caregiver or an authority figure, making one have difficulty having healthy attachments.
Emotional abuse and neglect have the same effect as physical in this situation.

···························

Unstable life

People raised in poverty or having family instability can develop anxious attachment styles, including abandonment issues.
