Fisrt Blog!! -- First Impressions on the SpaceHey community!!! --

I want this blog to be special since its my first one! I'm currently sick with covid and have nothing else to do. I planned to post one of my best pieces of writing but its a bit sad and I don't want to have to worry about of I'm posting something that's allowed on this website.

Instead I guess I'll talk about my first impressions of this website!

First, I joined after opening a link from my amazing friends discord bio. Immediately being overwhelmed by the fun and chaos that filled my screen I asked how the heck they made such a cool profile and decided I wanted to try it. At first it was difficult to navigate due to the older style of the website but within 30 mins I had made a profile with a theme. The initial viewing of the sight and creating of my account was a 10/10 experience. 

Secondly, out of curiosity I quickly learned how to navigate public blogs. I discovered from scrolling through just a few blogs that there is very mixed bag of opinions on peoples use of public blogging. On a Top Post made by someone named Ava she discusses the issue of publicizing problematic personal thoughts on this website. She highlights the abundance of predators who may go after these users and the importance of keeping personal information private. Her wording within the blog is blunt but definitely valid. After that being one of my first readings I clicked "Recent Blogs". Most were in another language or asking for friends. A few here and there shared personal struggles but nothing alarming. 

In addition to the blogs, I chose to check out the groups within this website. This is where I realized that probably between 80% and 90% of the users on this website identify with the terms "emo' and "scene". This is the moment I realized I don't exactly fit. A huge science nerd who plays Valorant and hasn't watched an anime since 2021 joining into such a community. I love it though. I enjoy the stye and energy the emo and scene community bring and I am glad to sit my happy little ass in an unfamiliar space of the internet because I love new things and interesting people. 

Finally, I would just like to say I am excited to explore this community deeper, make new friends, and maybe try and help people understand they don't have to share every uncomfortable detail to be heard and understood.  YOU ARE ALL LOVED! HAPPY FIRST BLOG!!!
