cures for the common cabin fever

Make sure to touch grass. Literally. It will do wonders for your mental health.

I work and awful 8-5 job with a painful 1 hour drive either way. The first day I worked this job when I came home and my partner asked me how it was I cried. I couldn't leave, we have a mortgage to pay, and she was planning to leave her awful job when I got a new full-time job. I've been here a year now and it still sucks.

The job market is tough right now, and I struggle to get any call backs. Not to mention the graphic design industry is progressing and I am becoming out skilled everyday. So I'm stuck here and have been for a long time, at least the money is okay.

I would of lost it a lot earlier at this job, like fully lost it and yelled at my dumbass boss if it weren't for touching grass. Everyday I go to park nearby for my lunch break. Sometimes I walk, sometimes I watch anime here, sometimes I nap on the picnic blanket, and sometimes I call my fiance. It does real wonders for mental health, the worst part is it makes my break feel like 10 minutes.

If at home life is getting too repetitive for you, or the office is a groundhog day unfulfilling torture chamber of overhead lighting and incompetent a-holes. Go outside more. It makes this easier, nature is great. It's hard to force yourself to, especially with poor mentals or chronic pain but it's always worth it.

Touching grass, the cure for the common cabin fever.
