lmk if u have any more!!!! i jus noticed sum things that make it more obvious that ur trans so i thought id make a list 2 give ppl a hand,, u dont gotta do anythin i suggest tho!! ion rlly kno how da whole thing works but jus do what u want!! i heart u all 😊😊

obvi i aint an expert but heres sum stuff ive observerd 2 help wit passing

aslo srry theyre so spaced out,, i find it hard 2 read large blocks of text and i think other ppl do too so like jus in case

name:

- i reccomend looking up 'popular boy/girl names for [year you were born]' for sum ideas!! u dont wanna go too fancy or obscure,, try n fit in wit common names!!

- also i heard it helps 2 go close to ur birth name,, like if u were named samuel u could name urself samantha or smth,, it helps wit not outin urself in front of like grandparents i think ? and at like school n stuff

- dont name urself after an interest!! i know a lot of people do that,, but once the interest kinda fades they realise 'yo why tf did i name myself gary dat name sux',, if u rlly wanna do that then go ahead but b prepared to possibly not like it much in the future

- i recommend goin wit a kinda plain name, not one that you love but one that you dont mind, bc the names you like might change in the future so if u pick an average one ur less likely to regret it

- especially online,, dont have multiple names like kai/joe/bob or whatever,, thats just generally something only trans ppl do so it kinda outs you,, i recommend phrasing it like 'hey, my names kai, but my friends call me joe (long story lmao)' or smth!! lots of cis ppl have random ass nicknames like that so its believable,, u can even make up sum story like 'they call me joe bc i once nearly choked on a sloppy joe' or whatever

- also online, dont make ur username/display name jus.. ur name,, cuz most cis ppl dont have their actual name displayed, u can put it in ur bio or smth but u pass better wit a regular username or jus 'harry potters left buttcheek' if u a freak like dat

- for trans guys i recommend not puttin lil symbols or aesthetic things in ur username,, girls i recommend the opposite,, add all the aesthetic stuff u like!!! dat stuff is gen used by girls or trans ppl,, most cis guys dont use those lil symbols, jus a thing i noticed

- same goes for hiding your deadname,, if ur wit friends that ur not out to and ur transphobic parents call u by ur birth name,, just tell ur friends later 'haha yeah my parents call me johnny because they think i look like that gorilla called johnny from the movie sing' or Whatever like jus go for it,, what they gonna do ?? ask ur parents?? lmao aint no one doin that

appearance (ftm):

- do NOT get 1 of them 'fluffy hair boy' 2020 ahh cuts,, they dont make u look masculine at All they jus make u look like an alt girl,, i mean if u rlly wanna get one then sure btu they just as bad for passing as long hair 

like dont get this cut (unless ur sure it will suit u or u pass enuf for it)

i reccomend more of a mullet or side part emo thing if u wanna b alt,, or like just regular short hair works great too, i dont recommend shavin ur head tho cuz it lowkey jus makes u look like a lesbian lmao im sorry 😭

- unless its rlly cold/hot, pick 1: short sleeves long pants, or long sleeves short pants, layering too much isnt how most cis guys dress 

- converse make u look kinda feminine for some reason, avoid em, try sum chunky shoes or just basic runners/sneakers/whatever u call em

- avoid goin w dat tiktok y2k grunge style,, yk mushrooms n striped brown cat ear beanies, skeleton fingerless gloves or whateva,, its just somethin that pretty much no cis guys wear

- jus be kinda basic, wear a nike tracksuit or smth,, does wonders for passing, i kno u would rather b original but if u rlly wanna pass jus be a basic popular guy

- sportwear helps too!!!! kinda what i jus said but still

- kinda a given but dont wear like a skirts or dresses n stuff, obvi u can if u want to but there is a very very small chance u will actually pass in them

- if u got larger chesticles u might wanna wear sumthing under ur shirt/pants that makes u look more muscular or large,, makes the boobadonkas not stick out as much

- pad ya shoulders!! tape on a sock or sum shyt ,, it helps 

- go for more masculine jewellery or none at all

appearance (mtf):

- pretty much a given but go for a longer haircut, try to avoid a side shave or anythin 'masculine', just regular long-ish hair

like dont go for this

cute as fuk i kno but it makes u look more masculine

- more on the hair,, try bangs,, most guys w long hair dont have bangs!! also dyed hair is always cute,, blonde especially, or dye it red or smth so it fades 2 pink #sneaky

- streaked hair, raccoon tails, stuff like that is always dope af n helps if ya alt or smth

- if u have to tie ur hair up, make sure u keep lil pieces hangin out at the front like bangs yk

- wear smaller shirts, no one cares if u dont have boobs,, lotsa cis women have small boobs,, wear a jacket over it to cover ur shoulders n stuff so ur form looks more feminine

- also try like puffy sleeves/shirt n stuff to cover a more masculine form,, or if u must,, baggy shirts w a cutesy pattern or light colors can help

- long skirts r a dream, no one sees ur legs or whatever and u look feminine, also helps if ya wanna go for an alt/goth style

- try a dress that flatters the hips, more of a pear/hourglass shape

- flared and/or bellbottom jeans n pants, more feminine than skinny or baggy pants

- converse are good shoes, pretty gender neutral n flat so u wont get much extra height

- bows, scrunchies, headbands, dangly/large hoop earrings, dainty necklaces, bracelets n rings,, also if possible belly button piercings are adorbs and feminine!! pick sum cute accessories, whateva u like best

- sum feminine colors r pink, purple, blue, teal, any pastel shades!!

- dress like a tiktok girl or smth lol, hello kitty pants, (long) wolfcut, that weird fake y2k style, whatever itll all look great on u

- steal a sports bra from ur mom or ur sis or smth and stuff sumthin in there, if u got any craft supplies just use sum literal stuffing, scrap cloth, old felt, whatever

- most of the time u dont have 2 worry abt foundation or a base (i think ?) if ur a teen so like jus skip all the fancy stuff

- for a male look, put a lil concealer on the outside of ur lips if urs r 'too big'

- try overlining for a female look/larger lips, just put ur lip stuff a lil over ur actual lips to make them look bigger

- trans guys,, i recommend not wearing any makeup except the masculinizing stuff, sure guyliner looks good on some people but itll probably just get u misgendered

- trans girls,, try some lightly tinted lip gloss/balm if u dont want it to be too obvious

- i find that for sum reason acne/facial marks lowkey make u look more masculine ? so like if u wanna look more mask then add some lil dark red-brown spots or smth,, not too noticeable, just lil marks they actually help a fair bit

- for a fem look, just do what the girls on tiktok do, lotsa mascara, highlight in the corner of the eyes, freckles, whateva itll look great on u (and help u pass)

pronouns:

- lowkey play dumb w it, if sum1 asks u ur pronouns jus say 'huh?' or like 'uhh the girl/boy ones i guess' if u dont wanna out urself

- dont put em in ur bio on anythin unless u post stuff where u look like the opposite gender of the 1 u are,, like if u a trans guy n u post vids in skirts n makeup the pronouns might help but otherwise most cis ppl dont put pronouns in they bio

- try n stick stick to he n she when u talk 2 ppl abt pronouns,, its dope if ya wanna use neopronouns or go by she/they or smth but most cis ppl dont use them

- i dont recommend wearin pronouns pins or anythin (unless u look the opposite of ur gender or smth) bc thats something generally only trans people do

- if sum1 calls u the wrong pronouns by mistake try n make it a jokey thing, like 'hey im a guy actually, oh no worries haha i get that alot apparently i have a baby face' or whatever
