You have to host them first, then paste the code into your bulletin/blog, but you have to click the little square blue icon at the top of the bulletin/blog when you're creating it. A window will appear, and in there you will see a place to put the image URL.
To host images, I personally use Postimages.org. Upload your photo there, and then on the next page copy the code you see that says 'Direct link.' That's the one you will paste in your bulletin/blog.
I like this particular service because it gives you a chance to resize your image before you actually upload it (in the drop down once you visit the address I gave you). This way, if it's an extra large image, it will resize it so that it fits better and doesn't throw your bulletin/blog size off.
For SpaceHey, I would choose the resize option, 'For website and email.' You can select that first, click Select Image, and then Upload. Then on the next page is where you will copy the address/link that I explained above.
