So many people are getting banned at the moment, and apparently it's because they mention nsfw things in their bulletins
Newsflash: like 60% of bulletins that I've ever seen are nsfw in some way
Not to mention the spacehey rules don't make it clear at all wether you're allowed to talk about those things;
"SpaceHey is not a place to display, share or promote any form of the following types of content:
- Nudity
- Sexual content
Please try to keep SpaceHey family-friendly (especially considering all Images, Videos and Links)."
Just look at how vague that is. Reading this, I would've assumed I'm not allowed to post porn, not that I'm not allowed to talk about it
IF this rule really means you can't talk about nsfw topics, it's demented that nobody was enforcing this rule before, and now all of a sudden it's okay to ban people left and right, when nobody seemed to care a few days ago
I also think in general it's stupid to put restrictions on TEXT. Yes there's minors on this site (myself included) but there's also a lot of adults. Other social medias get by just fine with allowing this sort of stuff, as long as it's not an image
Also, kids will be kids and they're gonna joke about that stuff. That's just how it is
Even worse that these people are getting banned on BULLETINS, not even blogs. I really don't get this because if I didn't want to see sexual content mentioned, I can easily just unfriend or block the person posting that bulletin, problem solved
Anyway spacehey mods PLEASE go back to not caring about some goddamn text. Spacehey was functioning just fine when all the people who you just banned were still posting

how are ~60% of the bulletins you've seen NSFW?
because since im 16, i add people usually from the age range of 13-19, and thats just the type of jokes that ppl around those ages are gonna be making

that's still a strange amount to me, because just about everyone i'm friends with is in that range, but there's hardly any NSFW at all- i guess it just depends on the person?

rs, ive been using spacehey on and off since 2022. the only real problems ive seen have been g0re spams and tcc shiz, the heavy moderation isnt like the "old internet" at all lol. if theyre gonna become crazy abt this ill js move my ass to neocities

I've brought up several times our rules are too vague and it's obvious the rule breakers aren't even aware of what rule they're breaking. Hopefully this helps with awareness.
Is mentioning nsfw topics against the rules?

Typically I remove anything that goes into too much detail. Like for example I won't remove for someone saying they went to bang but I will remove it if that person explains what they did during it or how it went.

I just delete it, majority of users I need to warn either have their messages set to friends only and don't accept my friend requests. But thankfully An said he's working on a warning system.

I don't really understand where they draw the line. There was a point a while ago where I couldn't even add swear words to my profile. How is this even close to "reclaiming the old internet" or whatever dumbass slogan spacehey uses.
Will I get banned because the music on my profile is sexual in nature? Will I get banned because I have swear words on my profile? Can I even mention anything sexual AT ALL? How is this even close to being like myspace? Do they know how COMMON nsfw topic are online?
I don't understand why a website specifically designed to take you back to the old days has more strict moderation than any modern social media, it should be the opposite.

yes omg!! i made an OBVIOUSLY JOKING nsfw bulletin and it got taken down and i was like wtf????? and then i made another nsfw bulletin but it was OBVIOUSLY NSFW BC OF THE TITLE!! AND IT GOT TAKEN DOWN TOO!!! i was like huh??? is someone reporting me??? very annoying!!!

I agree heavily with this! Especially when clear joke bulletins with some copy pasta is what ends up getting people banned and the fact that when the try to aquire information that that information is either kept vauge or there is a total silence when emailing. While i think the mods themselves were great to get the gore raids under control i think warnings and temproary bans on things of this nature are a so SOO much better way of going about this

Tbh I think it’s fine if friends in bulletins r joking around as long as it’s nothing crazy but in blogs I understand. Maybe they should give a warning first tho?
