Honestly, I don't believe in anything personally, but I feel like religion is a beautiful thing.
Christianity: for example, has saved many people's lives which is good, correct? so what's the point in getting all mad about their religion? sure, some might push the religion on you but that doesn't define everyone in that "group". Thats like saying every German person is Hitler just because they're German (I understand that Hitler is far different from religion, but I'd like to make an example on how dumb it sounds.)
Religions are beautiful. All of them. I love religion and the impact it has on its followers. It's generally a good thing besides those who don't follow it correctly and make a bad name for it as a whole.
I understand everyone thinks differently and I know there is different circumstances. Such as people who have religious trauma, they most likely feel resentment towards religion in general and that's okay. I don't think people should unnecessarily hate on religions (ANY RELIGIONS) because it's not harming them directly (in most cases).
Free will is a thing and people should be allowed to follow whatever they want as long as it's not directly harming others.
In the end I doubt people care about my thoughts and or opinions on religion, but I'd like to share anyways.
side note ; People aren't always educated fully on religions so i suggest you genuinely research before stating something.
- If anyone needs to learn about any religion and doesn't know how to or where to start ill post educational blogs about any religion!! I'll take time to search and learn things I might not know and put it here!!
My point to this was to say, let people live. let people follow THEIR beliefs, their dreams, their happiness.
If it isn't affecting you directly then let it the fuck go.
Live YOUR life and let them live theirs
I love you all! have a cuptastic day!

I appreciate to see a post that is rather respectful when it comes to religious people. I will say though, that some religions are quite harmful and I cannot see the beauty in them but only hurt, to give you an example, Islam; the way the religion treats their women is absolutely heartbreaking (needing the women and young girls to be completely covered to prevent the men from lusting - and their prophet having relations with a 9 year old). Religions do have the potential to be a beautiful thing, and oftentimes Christianity gets extreme hate due to some Christians being excessively pushy, but the bible itself has beautiful and rather peaceful teachings to love your neighbor and, importantly, to be empathetic and understanding. We are also called as Christians to be gentle, not forceful. People oftentimes will take parts of the bible out of context without knowing a lot of it is simply capturing history of the time of then, or people will try to twist the words to fit their narrative without reading the whole context and what it means. I applaud you for being an open-minded person when it comes to this subject!

I see your point, but I honestly think every religion has bad and good no matter which overpowers the other we should still keep the good in mind. Everything in this world has bad and good (mainly) especially when it comes to religions. I don't put anyone in a single group because quite literally everyone thinks differently. I'm not educated on every religion to the dot, but I do understand the basics and even though I do agree that Islam definitely has its "flaws" it shouldn't taint everyone whom follows it. There is also always the chance the person was raised by their parents differently and followed what they believed in and doesn't understand how it's wrong. From when you are born to when you are an adult you take notice of things that others do especially your role-models leading into confusion. I mean think about it, for example, a daughter raised by rich parents will soon become spoiled and think she can get whatever she wants of her parents don't set boundaries and she will go through her whole life genuinely thinking that's the right thing. I put all possibilities into consideration lol. I like your point though and I do understand and somewhat agree but not fully.
The reason I genuinely think religions do have positive outcomes is because I've seen it. I'll keep it short, but my mom struggled a lot with mental stuff and psychosis, and she turned to this religion (Christianity) that lets her regulate her feeling by putting her faith towards her God and feels better. I personally never found it helpful, but it helped her at least a little and so many others have been saved from this religion, so I won't just sit here and be like "nope! I had a bad experience so I hate it all!"which hey in some cases is valid but i dont like to be a hateful person and i like to be realistic

I applaud your optimistic mindset and will to see good in everything. It's really an uncommon trait, so I find that to be a beautiful thing. I don't think grouping anyone together or saying it's just the peoples fault will solve anything either - of course they're their own people, more or less I'm just saying the ideas behind their religious system have been exceedingly non-peaceful. My intent was not to say the people themselves are bad, or that they don't make their own decisions regarding it, rather, than Islam itself has many extreme takes in the quran and some rather dark history that I rather not get into, as I don't think it's time for a debate^^'
I'm glad you're realistic about it at the very least, some people can be incredibly hateful towards religious people as a whole and it breaks my heart. I'm very glad to hear your mother found the Lord and has improved her life, it's difficult for people with mental health struggles so I'm glad she's found peace. Nonetheless it's great for people to come to enlightenment. And I thank you for your wishes to not be a hateful person, in this world, we have a lot of non-empathetic people or radicalized people who are exceedingly prepared to turn to hate in every situation; it's beautiful to see a person whom sees nuance in each situation!

Is it still beautiful religions that wish death of groups of people? The fact it is religion and culture doesn't take away what they believe in, or make it right.
I don't hate on anyone without knowing them, but I am against and I dislike hateful religions.

yeah, so I actually said if they aren't directly harming anyone. Please read next time.

I feel like people should seperate the organised part of religion from the spiritual if that makes sense? I generally love all religions but not the institutions themselves only the teachings. Institutions like the Church have eroded what it means to believe in a God because they instead make you believe in the person who supposedly "represents" god. It is really complicated and i am not sure how i can talk about it haha... i just think we'd be better off if we took spirituality to our own hands instead of letting popes and imams do it for us

Uuuh this was very interesting :p my thoughts exactly! i also think that it's important to know the difference between disliking and hating. i know people who dislike Christianity bc of some ideas they don't agree with (and that's totally fine, as someone who likes the Bible there are some passages that feel a bit... off, to me) but they don't hate religious people and respect them when they meet one. i'm speaking as an agnostic.
I also liked how u considered religious trauma as a factor for not liking religion ^^ u seem somewhat very empathetic to me!

YES, FOR SURE!! there is a very clear difference between hating and disliking.
I agree that there are certain things in the bible that don't seem too right (to me at least) as someone who was raised Christian, I learned things about their God, and I didn't agree with all the things the bible said and what their God said.
(example) ; If you "truly" turn your life to God your forgiven which I PERSONALLY do NOT agree with. Reason being that there are EVIL people out there and they don't deserve second chances in any form even if they truly mean "sorry" or whatever such as (TW!) rapists, killers, kidnappers, etc.
in my personal belief there is NO excuse for rapists, and they all deserve the absolute worst. Sometimes I wish I had the power to actually make people like that get what they deserve but this world, this universe, this lifetime, doesn't have the power to give these evil people what they TRULY deserve.
Thats why I personally don't believe in Christianity, but Christianity isn't all "bad"
unfortunately, EVERYTHING has bad (and good) to it
also, thank you! I considered it because even I struggled with that, and I know sooo many people do too. I've seen so many people shit on others for not liking religions but sometimes they actually have a reason but for some others they don't. Thats why I think no one should be put in a group as a whole because everyone is different!! I'd like to thank you for saying you think I'm empathetic !! it means a lot because I'm not very good at showing my emotions and my care towards people and also FEELING it. I'm really glad you think so!! I'm honestly just trying to be factual and see all sides because there is so many perspectives and I'd love to hear all of them and put them into consideration!!
I also think about how some people are raised in cultures and other things like that, that prevent them from knowing what religion actually is!! and even sometimes their "teachers" or "role-models" aren't teaching them correctly so I try my best to put the fact they might not even know into consideration
I also believe in researching before you state something, so you have evidence to actually back your claim.
Thank you though!! :3 I loved hearing your side and what you think

i think the fact of recognizing that all people are different and have different situations and opinions can be a form of emphaty! :) I've seen too many having so black and white opinions especially when it came to religion, so this was pretty refreshing lol. Instead in the Bible i don't agree with the Isaac and Jacob story, yk the one where God commands Isaac to kill his son cuz he said so, and when he actually tries, God stops him and tells him he rlly doesn't want him to kill his son and that it was a loyalty test. I might be wrong but I've found a bit... weird that fact that someone would be willing to kill their child, even if God asked. Personally i would never, cuz... why do u want my son dead?? He did nothing. i would be suspicious af.
My family too is christian but i'm agnostic, and tbh, I've been atheist since i was very little, i've never been a believer. Now it's not like i don't 100% believe in God, but i'm not even a Christian either. Honestly i think that helped me seeing the nuances of the world, cuz, christianity of not, my family is SO stubborn when it comes to what they think, and probably that might be applayed to religion too. Like i can't question it or anything cuz they would look at me weird and treat me as i'm dumb. So yeah.
Have a good day! :3
