birthday "palibre" culture in the philippines, and why I dislike it ⏜ Ϋ« . ⟑ β‹‚

Hello!! In this entry, I'll be talking about why I dislike birthday "palibre" culture, as they call it here in the ph. You most likely don't know what palibre means, so I'll define it first. to "palibre" basically means to pay for someone, without expecting them 2 return the money. So it's basically like, treating someone, or multiple people too. I have 0 issue with this, obviously. But what makes no sense to me is birthday palibre culture. In the Philippines, there's this tradition wherein a birthday celebrant has to treat everyone, and it just doesn't make sense to me. I mean, it's theirΒ birthday, why are they still obligated to do things for everyone? If anything, it should be the complete opposite, with everyone having to treat the celebrant. I mean, wouldn't that be more understandable?Β  Take some pressure off of them! They're the celebrant, they deserve to get princess treatment for a day, don't they? I don't know if I sound immature or whatever, but really, it never made sense to me. Anyways. That's pretty much it!! This is gigi signing off . . β™‘
