Here at the Reminiscent Podcast we are following a developing story of unthinkable consequence for the pop punk community. “Ocean Avenue,” the namesake street for Yellowcard’s 2003 breakout hit appears to be a boulevard.
Based on photos taken at the scene earlier this month, it would appear that though there is a corner of Cherry Street in the vicinity, the sign for nearby Ocean Avenue as described in the song seems to be officially named Ocean Boulevard.
Jacksonville natives know this area to be adjacent to Atlantic Beach.
Yellowcard, formed in Jacksonville in 1997, was a Los Angeles-based act by the turn of the millennium, tuning their violins in preparation for a Capitol Records deal that would have them recording the album Ocean Avenue by Feb. 2003.

Thanks for being here everybody.
Tom on Ocean Avenue, err Boulevard...
[UPDATE]
After Tom's visit to Ocean Avenue, err, Boulevard, it actually appears to look more like an Avenue, as in it doesn't have a median running down the center of the opposing lanes. So is Ocean Avenue written about a Boulevard that is ACTUALLY AN AVENUE?!? The world is a sick and twisted place sometimes...
