Ruined surprise, ruined magnum opus

I was making, what I considered, my magnum opus and I vaguely talked abt it to my friends. Of course,they asked to see it and I sent a very half finished sketch. They instantly knew what it was supposed to be and kinda ruined the excitement I had to show them.
