First week of school went well. It's nice getting to see more than just my immediate family.This ain't about that though, this entire thing is actually just going to be a big rant about my driver. [ No names for privacy obv ]
I gotta say, I love my cab driver. Well I've actually had a couple I'm specifically referring to the guy who's been driving me to school since like June 2023. Was basically lulled to sleep today, I sleep so soundly when he drives it's insane. He's such a skilled driver, truly spectacular, especially since it's a long drive early in the morning. He's got a way of stopping/ slowing down that's so immaculately smooth.
It's funny though, I think I've said less than 50 words to him this entire time. Despite that I whole heartily trust him with my life. When I see his cab number I know it's gonna all gonna be okay, it's very comforting. I'd actually consider him a safe person, on the same level as like my grandfathers. He's older, maybe mid 60's and think he's either Polish or Russian. Also has a strong accent. I have a very hard time differentiating languages and accents so I don't know. He doesn't speak much but he's said he's been a cab driver for over ten years.
He seems a bit cold but he's very patient and compassionate from what I've observed. He kinda has to be when a big part of his job for the last ten years of his life has consisted of driving kids anywhere from the age of 20-12yrs old to a therapeutic day school. Feel like I should also mention that he drives a cab that's got accommodations for disabled folks [ Accessible for wheelchair users and visually impaired folks. ]
So grateful for him, genuinely. #1 fan, would choose him over my dead grandfather. And that's all for today on 'Oversharing on the internet' till next time!

bro has a cab driver! This is crazy will you be inheriting the family wealth or what do you want out of this life
Hah! I'm in a low middle class at best. No, my home district covers the transportation and tuition costs. Like I think they legally have to. That being said I don't know all the specifics.
It was a long process to get this point and I owe to my mother for being so adamant about me receiving a proper education and getting the right supports. If it weren't for her I doubt I would still be here. No clue what I'm going to do with my life but I'm not gonna let my mother's efforts go to waste.
