Today i decided i should listen to all the beatles albums. currently i've done 5 now, i'm here to express my opinion about them.
Please Please Me (1963)
they recorded this in a day? well props to them, album sounds fine. fun and catchy, this was probably a breath of fresh air to people back when it was released although compared to the later beatles works, this is just decent. really liked Anna (Go to Him) and Do You Want to Know a Secret?.
With The Beatles (1963)
can i say something? i like this better than Please Please Me. i know how people think this album is just basic and sounds the same like the previous, but for me it's just much more fun and catchy, gets me hooked. call this a guilty pleasure if you will or something.
A Hard Day's Night (1964)
i don't have much to say about this album. the first half is pretty good but the second half just doesn't drag my attention like the first. the singles are really good though.
Beatles For Sale (1964)
i always really liked No Reply so when i went in to listen to this one i thought it would be more like that - they're bored with this shit and you can hear that. this one is a big chunk of filler, but unlike the other albums where the filler sounds good, this filler is just bland, doesn't have that kick. wouldn't recommend aside from the hits.
Help! (1965)
actual banger release. they pulled it off with this one, my favourite of the early beatles releases. they were much more diverse in this, Act Naturally really reminds me of american folk. meanwhile You're Gonna Lose that Girl and You Like Me Too Much are really catchy. i just don't understand why did they make Dizzy Miss Lizzy the last track instead of Yesterday? it's such a weird song to end off on.
Rubber Soul (1965)
last one i'll be covering in this blog. considering the fact the most i've heard about this one is "The Pot Album", this one surprised me. it really does take a change from the early work. like the drums on here. i can't say my favourite songs on this because they're all pretty good.
i'll continue this later
