censorship

something i absolutely hate about a lot of social media sites now is that everything has to be watered down and censored for any hope of it getting more than 30 views. while i do agree that there should be a line as to what kinds of content should be allowed to be posted online, a lot of the time it seems to go too far. for example, if a creator swears or mentions some other kind of no no word near the start of the video it immediately gets hidden, just swept under the rug, away from any potential viewers even if the video isnt harmful in any way. what makes this even worse is the fact that it extends past things like swearing and more inappropriate things and applies to more serious topics like abuse. i dont think that creators should have to censor themselves in any way when talking about topics like sexual assault or murder, these are important topics and needed to be treated as such and i feel like by having to constantly censor words relating to these things makes them feel a bit less serious. and all of this is because they want ads and the money that come with it. and like i said earlier there should definitely be a line as to what is and isnt allowed but you cant just try and sanitize discussions surrounding heavy topics because it might scare away the advertisers. these conversations need to be held but constantly having to walk on eggshells while trying to have serious discussions makes it a lot harder.

Frrrr

A really bizzare example- there's this Tudor manor about 10-15 minutes away from where I live??? (Actually went there today - there were paid actors guiding the tours and they stayed in character the entire time!) But anyway- the local council is thinking about shutting it down to save money, along with the venue I dance at... Which happens to be 100 years old next year =( , but someone who was against it put up a banner on a gate outside the manor, saying "SAVE (the manor's name - im not doxxing myself)", and a local council member took offense to the work "Save"???? Like c'mon... Anyways another council member defended the woman who put it up and it was still there today when I went, so.... But STILL how can you take offence to SAVE?????

Apparently "save" was offensive because it implied something was happening to the manor... Something is??? Like you're shutting it (or as they sugarcoat it, mothballing it), ofc something is happening to it???
