becoming an adult

my birthday is coming up, and im kinda nervous to be 18. change is generally kinda hard for me as an autistic person, so it feels pretty daunting. i thought it might make me feel better to ask: what are the fun/cool/nice parts about being an adult? what are some things to look forward to? tysm

I'm 19 and I think being an adult is cool cause you are allowed to do what you want. Like I can go wherever I want and I don't have to ask permission for anything. I think sometimes I still get nervous about doing things on my own and I ask my mum for advice all the time so I don't really think I'm a full on adult yet, but that's OK cause honestly legal adults are still quite young! And it's ok to gradually find your independence :)

Quick tip: dont push yourself too much with this "adult" thing, as yesterday you were only a teenager. You mature slowly as the time passes, but surely you will get it.
As for fun things to do, there are various, yes! Not only you dont need to fake your age, but you actually get lots of different opportunities open for you. Sure, work might get your time and all, but you get to do more things and different stuff, making it easier for different hobbies to grow. You will only need to manage your time.
Adulthood is hard, but dont push yourself.
