unorganized late night thoughts on asoue

i don't remember how old i was the first time i read a series of unfortunate events, the only number i actually have is "before i was eight." either way it's been possibly my favorite book series of all time ever since. i've read it at least six or seven times, possibly even more. (i still haven't read all the wrong questions, for some reason. i have all the books, i've planned to read them for years. i just never actually started them for some reason.) i have read the unauthorized autobiography, but only once, and it was in middle school.

the writing style is still my favorite of any book, i don't do creative writing but i like to imagine that if i did i would take a lot of influence from lemony snicket's writing style. (well, technically daniel handler's writing style. i still consider it lemony's style since the books are, in universe, his writing.)

i think i'll start another reread soon, or maybe i'll finally attempt all the wrong questions. i probably shouldn't, since i still haven't finished moby dick or a song of ice and fire, but it shouldn't be too much of a setback on either of those since it doesn't take me very long to read them. in most of rereads after elementary school i can finish about one book a day. still, it would take a minimum of two weeks with there being thirteen books...

i'll see what i think in the morning. i may or may not reread them soon
