I'M IN COLLEGE NOW GUYS

Sooo I'm officially in college tehehehe

I moved in three days ago? Four? Honestly, I have no clue, everything has blended together. I feel like I've been here a month already. Everyone I've met I feel like I've known for a long time. But everything's chill, and I'm actually really enjoying it, which is super nice.

Move in was pretty basic. Before coming, I'd met with my roommates, so it was nice to not have to walk into a room with complete strangers (and have to live with strangers for the next six months). They're pretty chill. My dorm is really cool. I'm going to a fancy college, and some of the dorms are old mansions that you can live in cause they were converted, and since I'm in the honors program I got to live in the honors HOUSE. It's this HUGE mansion and I got a room that's literally bigger than my bedroom at home it might be the size of my parents master bedroom it's CRAZY. Even with three beds and three desks, there's enough room for an air mattress in the center, so my friends from school could even visit! I have two "suitcase roommates" as someone called them. They live close enough, so they said they'll be going on a lot of weekends back home. So my friends could pull up, which is very silly goofy. But that's not what this post it about. Lemme get back to it. 

The dorm is HUGE with tons of windows, so the natural light is great. We even have a semi-private bathroom which we only share with one other dorm. It's a jack-and-jill style bathroom, and the girls in the other dorm are twins from California that play hockey. They're also super nice and super fun. I can't tell them apart, but I'll get there...trust trust...

I went to the athletics meet and greet and met this girl who's a hurdler. She's super nice. She then introduced me to her roommates who are both super cool, and for the past few nights I've been going over to their dorm at night until like 11 or 12 and then heading back to my dorm. We're all in the same building, just on opposite sides of the hall. It's nice cause my roommates go to bed early, so I can just chill with this other room. We've grabbed lunch together a few times at the dining hall, too, which has been fun. The track girl is an immersive media student, and she introduced me to a group of immersive media students who are also super fun and silly, and they're super welcoming. I'm so shocked I'm actually meeting people, but ya know, it's great and I'm so happy I'm actually making friends!

The other night, the school hosted a karaoke night for all new students. I went with the twin hockey players. My roommates don't really like to go out and leave they dorm, they stay in a lot, so I'm glad I have these other people to go and be silly with. But at karaoke, we met these two transfer students who live in the school's apartments, AND THEY HAVE A CAT. We left karaoke early to go and chill with the cat and it was so silly and so fun and we stayed out really late and it was one of my favorite college experiences. 

Then last night there was a fun fest with characature drawings and shit but the line was too long, I raced my one friend in the bouncy house and won (and smashed my nose when I hit my face on an obsticle which cracked my whole neck and my nose still hurts) and there was a tarot card reader so I was like "why not that's silly" and guys it was CAZY she was so accurate in everything and I told her nothing and it was insane and look I don't know if I believe in that stuff but the stuff she said like, oh my god, I've been contemplating what I want to do with majors and minors and careers since my interests are everywhere and one of the things she said was "don't be scared to have along time to focus on you, and don't decide on your major just because it's your default actually take time to reflect on it so that you can make a career for yourself that mashes together all of your special and unique interests, don't default to just one because you feel like you need to" which was CRAZY cause I didn't even mention my major or minor, and maybe that was all just bullshit BUT LIKE, DOESN'T THAT SOUND EXACTLY LIKE WHAT I WAS JUST SAYING??? and she didn't say any of that to anyone else it was CRAZY like maybe it's all just bullshit and that's obvious but it was still WEIRD

The dining hall food is also surprisingly good. Everyone complains about it, but I'm convinced they've never eaten at any other school's dining hall cause this shit is GORMET compared to the other schools I've eaten at. They had fresh shrimp tacos, and baked tilapia. The school is also set on being organic and nutritious, so all the food is pretty healthy. I just need to learn how to build a healthy meal, cause I do not wanna be a victim of the freshman 15 and I'm REALLY scared it's coming up on me...

For the past few days, I've just been exploring around campus. I like finding silly fun places to go and chill at. I gave myself a tour through the music hall, and found all the practice rooms and stuff in the basement. It's actually a really nice music hall. I joined jazz band and tried to join choir, but I don't think it's going to work with my schedule cause my creative writing class is the same time (which I can't drop since that's my major). But I love exploring and going into random buildings. There's this other giant mansion in the middle of campus which is just a study place and meeting place for students. There's a gorgeous solarium I was reading in the other day. THERE'S ALSO A FISH POND RIGHT BY MY DORM. I'll get more into that in a second, but I've been down there every day. Super nice. Guitar dude is also always down there playing, if anyone saw my bulletin on him.

Today was the actual first day of classes, and I only had two classes today, that didn't start until 3 PM. Like, hello, that's crazy. What am I supposed to do all day? I went for a two mile run and it was HELL and my times were SHIT I really gotta up my game ToT track girl really wants me to join cross country, but I don't wanna embarrass myself...but I DO wanna get in shape, but my mom doesn't want me to cause my "ankle can't handle off-road running" as if I don't do that already??? Okay ig but the only class I need a textbook for is my music class, which is SO weird cause all my other classes are English classes (I have a music minor so I got a music class in there thank GOD)

The first class was nothing special. I have it with my roommate. However, my second classs...

it's my creative writing class. I walked in, and the professor is sitting there, feet on display dogs out and on with sandals that are too small so his feet are just hanging over. CRAZY. He also handed out oranges which I will snack on at some point. Class was interesting. We wrote a little bit. He seems really silly tbh. I think I'm gonna like his class. Minus the dogs out thing. I wonder if I have to worry about that in winter. 

I then went and sat by the pond. I was gonna go for a walk, but the pond was calling my name. I was just sitting alone, then this group of girls came and sat down on the ground near the bench. Most of them are in my dorm, I've seen them around and talked to them. But we didn't know each other. After watching the fish for a while, they asked me to join them, and I did. And it was nice. We all talked and watched the fish. There's four big fish. The orange ones are named Gecko and Gieco. The black ones don't have names. I wanna name one Suguru or Geto or smth for sillies. They're friends with the guitar guy, so he came and sat with us and played guitar while we all talked about silly things. They instagram stalked our RA who used to have a really silly haircut. I found out the only two guys in our dorm are the one RA (that they stalked) and guitar guy. Guitar guy is scared of the RA. The girls decided the RA is the alpha male and guitar guy is the beta male. Guitar guy had nothing to say about this. Me and the one girl tried to pet the big fish. They all swam away. We then tried to get them to bite our fingers (something guitar guy said they would do) but they did not. They were all really nice. 

I'm really glad I'm actually meeting people. I was NOT expecting to meet so many people like this. It's been great though, honestly, and a lot of fun. No complaints. It's been a lot better than I thought.
