I broke my laptop screen and I dont know what to do.

I broke the screen on my laptop and I don't know what to do. I want to get it fixed but that can be pricey and I dont even know if my mom would let me do that. I could just live and hook my laptop to a the monitor that we have but that means I basically have no more privacy in what I do (not saying i do bad things its just I have a little brother that loves to never leave me alone. and along with having a brother he will hog the monitor and I wont be able to use the laptop at all then. I would fix it myself but I dont even know how to do that and I will prob just make the problem worse. I could buy a whole new computer but I would lose everything I have on this one and would lose all my progress in games and such. I would also have to rebuy everything I bought on steam because i don't know if the purchases will move over to a different device. I just dont know what to do and need advice. I might just beg my mom until she brings it over to geek squad to fix it but idk if i'll be able to aford it because who knows what the cost will be for geting a whole new screen just for one little crack.
