I miss the time when internet was more innocent and less centralized, i remember the time when everything has its own places. It wasnt a long time ago but it sure feel so far away.
Now internet has turned into something so viciously inescapable, its sickening. With everything so centralized and readily available, they force fed us with endless junks everywhere you go. With almost every platforms following the same formula to suck the personalities out of people and turn them into trends eater. Everything is so dull and everyone is depressed.
Adult content used to have its own "subtle" spaces and hard to access/obtains. Now perversions leaks everywhere. Its so vile how they have so normalized perversion to the point that it is acceptable for them to be in public platforms. Things that used to be in hot model magazines now is a very normal thing to stumble upon in many platforms, taunting community guidelines as they dances around it through loopholes and incompetency.
Not only that, now vices like gambling and drug usages is so normalized and accessible that many celebs and influential figures alike promotes that activities. Degeneracy made into a full blown buffet where everything laid bare on display and all you need to do is lay back and they will tube feed you.
Its crazy how these people just close their eyes when the average of teenage boys has seen more boobies than King Solomon himself.

i get you. perversion came a long way in the web, and, personally, i believe that the boom of the internet shows so much about us as a society. the more people who liked those things felt "connected", less was the need to hide their likes, influencing others to do the same. with the growth of internet, we achieved a level of connection that no one could think of, 100 years ago.

Its crazy to think about especially for the people that was there when it all started. I feel like the current situation that we're facing is a true testament of how important it is to stand your ground and to draw the line.
We've been given the chance to steer the direction of where Internet is going throughout the years, but we were so complacent and passively consuming things back then that we let all sort of the wrong people with the wrong intentions dominate this shared space we have.

Bro what are you on about?? I see where you’re coming from, but the internet definitely wasn’t innocent back then, there’s a reason people used to refer to the internet as the wild west. I wouldn’t say the internet was exactly better back then either

I really should've put quotation marks when I said "innocent", but really other than that its true. Sure when it was less regulated people call it like the wild west but those crazy stuff we seen isnt the norm. You have to actually find out about things like that either through friends or forums. You have to at least be knowledgeable about websurfing to get what you want. It was niche.
Now you can get all kind of apps with BILLIONS of active monthly users, all just through your phone. And in those platforms that are so easily accessible to even the dullest tool in the shed, everything is there.
While back then you can simply not access certain sites that are nsfw alike, now those stuff are almost unavoidable because they let millions of accounts float around through the "feeds" no matter how many you block or click uninterested in.
