How can you find out if a guy has a girlfriend or not?

There is this guy that I like but we've barely talked. I wanna start talking to him but I'm scared that he has a gf and I really dont wanna involve myself and bother their relationship if he does and all cuz I am NO homewrecker.

He's always on his phone and he doesn't seem 2 talk to any1 but maybe it's an online gf?
