ZB1 Cinema Paradise Ramble

So... I started writing this at 9pm and then it all deleted so here we go again!!!! (I promise I'm not copying Janis, we talked about posting it and everything... it was a joint idea and I am NOT stealing😠 ily Janis pookie)

ZEROBASEONE just released their new album called Cinema Paradise!! Here's my opinion on each of the songs AND an overall ranking at the end!~

GOOD SO BAD

The song is really good. Favourite parts are definitely the Matthew part near the end and the Gyuvin rap. I feel like this is a song you could get tired of after hearing it for so long... I mean after simply hearing it maybe 4 times in the past 3 hours I think I might be a little tired of it already... But! It's still a good song and very catchy too! I do have a feeling this will totally get SOTY (⁠ʃ⁠ƪ⁠＾⁠3⁠＾⁠）

KILL THE ROMEO

Actually my favourite song from this album! Solar POWER was my favorite from their last comeback and that has kind of the same vibe that KILL THE ROMEO has. It's got that really deep vocals in the chorus and I'm all for it. They performed a dance for it on stage during the live and tbh that ate too. It's definitely more of a horror-like theme and I LOOOVE it. I don't really have any negatives for this one, I genuinely really like it!(⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠)

Overall: 9.7/10

The Sea- ZB1 Remake

I've actually never listened to the actual The Sea song, but I am so sure that ZB1 gave it justice. Super cutesy song, it's something you'd play on a nice relaxing walk by the beach... which makes sense because the song is called The Sea. The music video to this was really cute as well! It's something you'd show your kids in the future from an old camera and say: "This was my old friend group" and tell the fun adventures you went on with them! Which I'm sure all the younger members will do anyways, like Yujin! (Jiwoong is too old.. BUT I'm sure he'd show his kids anyway— as long as it isn't any of the stuff from his acting career....). I really like this song and I do recommend people listen to it! (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

Insomnia

Holy shit. This song is actually amazing. If anyone hears me saying "I love insomnia!!" I promise you it's this song༎ຶ⁠‿⁠༎ຶ... This song is actually really good overall, it's nice and hype! It's got a NewJeans type beat in the background which is probably why I like it so much. I don't have much to say other than it's really good!! If you're a kpop fan and haven't listened to ZB1, I'd probably recommend this as one of your first song!(⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)

Overall: 9/10

Road Movie

This song is pretty insane. It starts off strong with some pretty good rap and then suddenly I feel like I'm ascending. I was genuinely jaw dropped when the beat switch happened and I'm sure literally all Zeroses were as well. I think the whole switch up in vibes like that is actually really cool and I love when songs do that! If you want to hear a good beat switch that makes you think you're traveling to the third world, highly recommend this! (⁠◡⁠ ⁠ω⁠ ⁠◡⁠)

☆ side note: the MC on the live said something about the poster for Road Movie being manly... I think I shed a few sad tears

Eternity 

You see... Eternity is an ok song. I heard the spoiler for it and said "This will be my fav! It sounds so good!!" and oh was I wrong... It's a very forgettable song, I'm still debating if I really want it in my playlist or not. It's a very nostalgic type of song, like all the members are looking back at their memories of ZEROBASEONE and stuff. The vocals are nice and it's a very soft song. I think I favour Ricky's vocals the most in this song, because gaaahd that shit hits. It's not a song you'd probably see me listening to in my spare time but still pretty alright overall..? ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠˘⁠_⁠˘⁠)⁠┌

Overall: 6.7/10

YURA YURA - Korean Version

I love YURA YURA as much as any other Zerose but I think we can all agree here that it doesn't hit the same as the Japanese version/original version does. It's still good, don't get me wrong, but I much rather Japanese. It feels very off in a way and I keep expecting the Japanese lyrics and suddenly Matthews little ending part isn't hitting like "yura soshite mata~" does. I think just overall, burn the Korean version!(⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

Overall: 5/10
