So for a change, I started school on a Monday rather than on a Wednesday, which is interesting. Although not necessarily ideal, I was able to attend my classes the way I would for the rest of the semester.
As for what I'm taking, I have public speaking, golf, circuits, computing II, professional development, and linear algebra.
Public speaking will likely be okay. I don't like to do it, but obviously I understand why it is a required course for most majors at my university. I have decided to sit up front, but I can't see how many people are in the class! My first speech (which is ungraded, which is nice) is next week. I didn't go to golf until Wednesday. I actually won't show up on the green until next week, as things need to be set up for the course. I like my circuits class but there are a few problems. One, every single assignment is done on paper. Unfortunately, I have to print that paper myself. I understand that making the professor print everything would be extremely costly and work done by hand is better for this course, but why can't it be digital? The amount of printing I'm having to do is insane. Instead of those sheets, it would be better to turn in our scratch work on paper. Also, I don't like how the course is organized on the course webpage. There isn't much to say about my computing course, except for the fact that the instructor is new and the software is known to be kind of iffy. Labs start Tuesday though, and I'm excited to see how that goes. Professional development is what you would expect. It should be an easy A and help me understand what I want the rest of my time at uni to be like and what I want to do when I graduate. Linear algebra is its own can of worms. The professor is not very clear when it comes to lecturing. I think I'll be okay if I supplement the lectures with my own learning and tutoring from my college. I really don't want to drop!
I've had to get in my car a couple times this past week, and I have not liked it at all. I hate left turns! I downloaded Waze to help me with directions; hopefully, I'll have to deal with fewer left turns.
This week I also attended a meeting for the student org I'm a part of. Well, everything was going good until the president informed me that I will be taking over the role of my superior since he will graduate this fall. I knew he was going to graduate, but for whatever reason I thought they were going to find someone else to fill his role. However, it makes sense that they would move everyone up a role and find someone for the lowest one instead.
On Friday I went to an annual cookout that my college hosts. I enjoyed some good food with a friend of mine and got a ton of free stuff, including a nice pennant. I have this cork board and I have now decided to fill it with one thing from each semester. My freshman semesters each have a photo, while the pennant will be my sophomore fall semester item. I wonder what I'll end up putting for my spring semester...
Anyway, the weekend's slipping away! Hopefully, things go a bit smoother this week.
Boa noite,
