here’s my jacket! simple rundown of the patches on the front of it are mystic priestess, emily the strange, the cure, mystik spiral (which if you recognise i love you), mcr, the sisters of mercy vision thing logo, seven golden vampires. on the sleeves are death from the sandman, the vampire ankh from vampire the masquerade, paralysed age and yamamara. every patch on the jacket other than the mcr one was made by me!
i have two beetlejuice enamel pins on one collar and two mcr pins on the other. i’ve got spikes and embroidered ribbon on the pockets, and a diy bottle cap pin with an eyeball and another badge that says “student bored” on one of the pockets too, which was made for a quiz night i did with one of my friends because our team was called student bored lol.
other badges are a pronoun pin i made by cutting up paper, a scary bitches diy bottle cap badge i made and then another two random badges i’ve gotten over time.
i don’t have any patches on the back of my jacket yet which is very sad but i have plans in the works and if anyone wants to suggest things i would love to hear them! i may probably update this or do a part two when i add more to the jacket/begin on the back :)

ugh real do you use regular thread or embroidery thread?
by ronan ☥; ; Report
regular thread, js the cheap kind that comes in a kit at the dollar store n stuff. occasionally I’ll find some at the thrift store tho which is pretty cool

how abt you ?
by cyril; ; Report
ooh yeah i use the same, i feel embroidery thread probably wouldn’t be as secure lol. i use it doubled up though
by ronan ☥; ; Report
yeah I also double it, I use x stitches tho but since they’re kinda spaced out they don’t look as good so I’m gonna go back over and fill the gaps w more stitches once I get more thread

oh that sounds cool! i’ve considered doing shaped (?) stitches before but i feel they’d be out of place on a project with other stitches on it already lol

yeah that makes complete sense, it’s the way I learned how to stitch so that’s just how I started the vest and I feel that it’s too late to go back now lol. I still want to change the studs on it and stuff though, I have sm stuff planned for it

TYSM! ive had the jacket since at least 2022, but i didn’t start on it as a proper patch jacket until the beginning of 2023 and i began with plain black stitching until earlier this year i redid all the patches with red patches and recently added the mystic priestess and mystik spiral patches and the spikes!
