yeah amazon sucks BUT

another ramble/rant about annoying stuff i find online but i am SO sick of hearing mfs on twitter and tiktok say absolute bs takes like "you shouldn't be buying from amazon!! its a bad company and buying from it makes you bad!!" and yeah I HAVE HEARD IT (so dont say that it doesnt happen!)!! it annoys me so much because like,, amazon is successful for a reason?? i dont want to defend the company at all because of the shitty working conditions and jeff bezos but i'll absolutely defend people buying stuff on it. obviously if you can say "hey! im not gonna buy stuff on amazon and only support local businesses"then yeah! thats awesome and i support that. but ur totally forgetting the amount of people who either A. dont have businesses near them that can cater to their specific needs (ie needing certain products for health or practical reasons that arent available widely), B. cant afford to buy expensive items (yeah small businesses do have pretty high prices a lot of the time which makes them inaccessible to a large amount of people (those prices for labor and everything are valid tho)), or C. cant even get to those businesses in the first place!! you dont know if that person getting weekly amazon packages is disabled and cant physically drive to a place to pick up items whenever they need it or if theyre a parent who doesnt have time to go on weekly shopping trips. i think that all of the "people who support amazon by buying stuff are bad" takes are horribly uneducated, privileged, and shitty. and if you gen believe it then you need to open your eyes and ears and actually listen to other people than your fucking twitter community that dick rides every take they hear.
