Is american experimental heavy tank made on the hull of another american heavy tank M6A1. It was made because of the newest Tiger II german tank, american army faced a shortage of powerful  tanks, they needed a new tank to fight german vehicles, and built this tank EXACTLY for this purpose, equipped with 105mm gun taken from T28 Super Heavy tank, improved armor, and a big armored turret with armor up too 200 millimeters. The whole thing weighted over 60 tons (exactly 77 tons), which american army did NOT like, so they closed program of remaking heavy tanks. But one closed program didn't closed the whole project, because later they gave go-ahead to other project. But its a different story.
