Clowns, pigs, and lady lamps-- oh my.

So I touch on it briefly on my profile, but I collect a few things and I would love to share them with you. i am trying so hard to feel connected to people again

Clowns: I have a pretty decently size collection of clowns. I absolutely love them-- the colors, the faces. When I lived in Colorado I would frequently visit crumbling antique shops and oddity stores and just absorb all the beautiful weirdness that radiate off of these strange little figures and dolls. I am planning on starting up my leg sleeve (there's got to be a better phrase for that) and it'll be completely clown/circus/fair themed. Setting my appointment for ferris wheels on my knee caps sometime in the next few weeks!

Pigs: This started a few years ago when my ex girlfriend and I were going yard sailing and we stumbled across a lady whose mother recently passed away. Her mother collected pigs, and upon seeing a deep blue,  100% solid porcelain pig covered in flowers I literally started crying. I felt such lovely energy from it. The woman selling them was incredibly happy that her mothers collection had found a new home and my soul felt so fulfilled, that I never stopped looking for piggies for the both of us.

Vintage Burlesque Lamps: I feel like this is so oddly specific and I only have two of them but they're some of my most prized pieces. They're beautiful lamps of gorgeous women, and when you lift up their skirts there are lightbulbs. One still has a tag on it from 1929 and i'm absolutely in love with her. I found her while visiting an old mans store with my best friend, we had just moved across the country on a weeks notice with nothing but 300 bucks and a suitcase of clothes. We lived on another friends dining room floor, and shared a little mattress on the floor of said dining room that someone in the complex was throwing out. Things weren't very bright so we would visit small shops to pass time, regardless of the fact that we weren't spending money. I felt like I was missing something as soon as I walked in. And then I saw her. The old man explained that she was one of his favorites, plugged her in and her skirt lit up and I swear both of us were giddy like school children. That empty feeling passed quickly and I had her solo for about a year until I found her sister. But this is getting long and that's a story for another time.

What do you collect? Do you have a strange or off-beat fascination? I would love to hear about it !!

I'm over here thinking so hard about something I collect lol. I have a small collection of sweaters/flannel which is funny since it's never cold for too long here in AZ lol. My room used to be my sister's and she thrifts a lot so I actually have a vintage Raggedy Andy pen holder. Are Raggedy Ann & Andy clowns? I need to know lol.

Oh my gosh!!! I consider them clowns for sure lol we might be wrong though. My very first ever “clown” was a raggedy Anne I was INSEPARABLE from as a child lol that’s super cool. And yeah, the weather definitely isn’t sweater friendly here often

That's so cute! Now that I think about it, Luanne from Big Comfy Couch was the only clown I ever loved lol. True, I always wanted to move somewhere cold & rainy but my bones hurt from the cold now Dx

Oh my lord don’t even get me started on her. Child me had the biggest crush. Now that I think of it, clowns may have had more of an impact on my life than I realized. Yikes.

I love that! What makes for a good stamp, and do you know how many penguins you have? I’ve always been fascinated by old coins!

Basically any stamp made before the “forever” stamps lol

I’ve actually never counted my penguins.
